RYA Keel Boat Instructor Course, Whitehills, Banff. Fri 20th to Tues 24th April
2012
This course will be delivered by Ewan Stirling of 60North Sailing, for Banff
Sailing Club. The course will consist of 5 days totalling 50 hours.
One of Banff Sailing Clubs Hunter 707 Keelboats will be used for the course
which will be based at Whitehills Harbour, approximately 2 miles West of Banff.
The course will take place in tidal/coastal waters.
Prior to the course candidates must fulfil the following requirements:
• Minimum age 16;
• Valid first aid certificate
• RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate;
• Pre-entry sailing assessment completed within 1 year prior to
the instructor training course.
If you are unable to arrange this before the course starts then a pre-entry
assessment can be taken on Thursday 19th of April. (This will be at an
additional cost, charged at the assessor’s daily fee of £100. This fee can be
split between those requiring an assessment). The day can also be used to
familiarise yourself with the Hunter 707 prior to the assessment taking place.

The full course fee of £250 will be due when booking.
A total of 6 student places are available on the Keelboat Instructors Course. 4
places have already been taken. The course is not confirmed as going ahead until
all 6 places have been booked & paid for.
Cancellation: If you have to withdraw from the course you will forfeit the full
course fee unless your place is taken at full price by another candidate. The
club reserves the right to offer cancelled places at a reduced price in order
that the boat is optimally crewed.
If the Club cancels the course then all monies will be refunded. Courses which
cannot be run due to adverse weather will be rescheduled. It is the Course
Instructors decision that will determine any postponement due to adverse
weather.
